Please note, the Workforce Participation Program replaces the Partnerships to Jobs program.

To assist Tasmanian businesses deal with the challenge of skill shortages, the Tasmanian Government is providing $2.3 million in grants through its Workforce Participation Program.

Grants will be provided to organisations that provide employment for a person who has not been employed in the previous three months, and who faces a barrier that prevents them from working.

Please note that changes have been made to the Workforce Participation Program – Grants for Employers. 

These changes will be effective as of 1 December 2009.
The new application form will be available online as of 1 December 2009. 
All applications received after 1 December 2009 will be assessed under the new criteria.

What is being offered?

There are two grant schemes under the Workforce Participation Program:

1.   Grants for Employers

Grants of up to $7 000 per job are available to encourage employers to fill vacancies and satisfy demands for labour by employing Tasmanians that they usually do not consider.

2.   Grants for Community Enterprise

Funding is available to create and facilitate employment opportunities through community enterprise for Tasmanians. Funding will be calculated on $7 000 per job.
