Partnership to jobs

Creating employment opportunities in Tasmania

The Partnerships to Jobs grant program provides funds to organisations that create or facilitate jobs for Tasmanians not participating in the workforce, and disadvantaged and long-term unemployed jobseekers.

The desired outcomes of the program include:

  • increased participation in the labour force
  • lower unemployment in target areas
  • strengthened community capacity
  • contribution to Tasmania Together
  • increased job readiness of participants involved in funded projects

Economic Development and Tourism has been administering the Partnerships to Jobs grant program since 2003-04. To date (January 2008) the program has committed $3.1 million in grants to local organisations to achieve the desired outcomes of the program and created/facilitated 520 jobs for disadvantaged Tasmanians.

Organisations wishing to apply to funding under the program should first read the Partnership to Jobs guidelines.

There is a two-stage application process to apply for funding under the Partnerships to Jobs program.

1.     Submit project outline - Organisations that wish to apply should first complete the two-page project outline

2.     If the project is considered compatible with the program objectives, Economic Development and Tourism will contact you to discuss the most appropriate way to provide assistance (if necessary) to develop the project. To apply for funding, a full application form needs to be completed, including a detailed business plan, budget and schedule for the project.

Project outlines and applications can be submitted at any time.
