North West Tasmania - Participation in Sport and Recreation Activities North West Tasmania - Participation in Sport and Recreation Activities is the most thorough Tasmanian sport and recreation participation data gathered to date, and the first to provide data for each Local Government Area (LGA). The purpose of this document is to provide an overview and analysis of the data. The information can assist all levels of government to make informed decisions for the provision of sport and recreation facilities and services. It also provides each LGA with an opportunity to analyse and compare the sport and recreation participation in their particular area with that of the region and other LGAs. All data tables used as the basis for the figures and tables in this report are included in the appendix of this document. Readers can scrutinise the data presented in this report to identify other specific areas of interest that may be followed up in more detail. All tables and figures presented in this report are for the North West region unless otherwise stated.
