Tasmanian Sport and Recreation Framework for People with a Disability
Sport and Recreation Tasmania (SRT), in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services’ Disability Services Unit and the Tasmanian Sport and Recreation Association for People with a Disability (TASRAD), is pleased to announce the release of the Tasmanian Sport and Recreation Framework for People with a Disability.
The framework sets out the State Government’s vision for an inclusive Tasmanian sport and recreation sector. It identifies strategies for organisations that provide participation opportunities for people with a disability under four key priority areas:
- capacity building
- collaboration
- information, awareness and promotion
- accessibility.
A reference committee will be established to oversee the implementation of the framework. The committee will report six-monthly on progress and will undertake a review after three years, in 2012.
