Investor Retirement Visa Sponsorship

Tasmania boasts a comfortable climate, relaxed lifestyle and beautiful environment, making it an ideal place to retire.

The Investor Retirement visa is designed for self-funded retirees (with the primary applicant being 55 years or older) who have no dependants and who want to reside in Australia during their retirement. The visa is temporary and will not lead to Australian permanent residence or citizenship. Applicants must be self supported and be able to make a significant long term financial investment in Tasmania, as well as pass federal health, character and police checks.

Please visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website, Investor Retirement (Subclass 405), for more information on this visa; and the TASCORP website for information, terms and conditions of your designated financial investment.

If you meet the minimum regional requirements for the Investor Retirement (subclass 405) visa and would like to retire to Tasmania, please complete the following two forms:

Once completed, please forward electronic copies of your forms to businessmigration@development.tas.gov.au.

Please be aware that, if you are moving to Tasmania as an Investor Retirement visa holder, you are not entitled to access the Department of Economic Development and Tourism’s resettlement assistance.
