Business migrants succeed by choosing the right place with the opportunities to suit their skills and abilities.
Tasmania
is a group of 334 islands below the south-east corner of the Australian
continent. Few regions can offer business migrants the range of
opportunities available in Tasmania.
The state has an abundance of natural assets, including forests, farmlands, fisheries and mineral deposits.
Tasmania enjoys a number of commercial advantages over other states, including:

Tasmania
has well-developed internal transport systems, and reliable air and sea
links. There are four deep-water ports with regular interstate and
international cargo services. About 480 flights each week carry
passengers and airfreight to and from four airports. The capital city,
Hobart, is approximately one hour by air from Melbourne and 1 hour 40
minutes from Sydney. An extensive, well-maintained road and rail
network provides efficient internal transportation and all major
centres are serviced by efficient public transport.
The
supply of electricity from a statewide hydro-electricity grid has never
been interrupted by industrial action. Natural gas-generated
electricity can now be used to supplement the hydro-electric system.
Tasmania's small size and relative isolation has encouraged the
development and maintenance of an efficient, advanced
telecommunications network.
Business migrants will find
quality real estate suitable for industry development to be abundant
and less costly than in other parts of Australia. Investors have the
support of government teams possessing expertise in both industry
requirements and state and national assessment processes. Tasmania has
an integrated, consistent and streamlined project assessment process in
which timeframes are limited by law.
