Tasmania offers travellers a safe, affordable, rejuvenating holiday experience in one of the most unique and unspoilt locations in the world.  The purchase of the super fast ferries and best ever air access has transformed the Tasmanian tourism industry forever and dramatically increased visitor numbers to the state. 

Visitors to the state are nearly double the number of eight years ago. Tasmania now attracts almost 800,000 visitors each year, lured by the state’s world heritage wilderness, stunning natural beauty, gourmet food and wine, unhurried lifestyle, world-class trout fishing, welcoming locals and cultural attractions.

Record visitor numbers to Tasmania have seen a boom in tourism-related infrastructure development. At present there is more than A$600 million in tourism-related development either planned or under construction.
