  • Exports up by over 17 per cent in the year to September 2007. 
  • Tasmanian exports are predominately commodities and high-value goods such as pharmaceuticals, food products including meat, fruit, vegetables, salmon, shellfish, lobster and manufacturing and equipment.
  • Tasmanian merchandise exports are valued at A$3.71 billion, to September 2007.
  • Tasmania’s major export markets are Japan (A$731 million or 19.7 per cent of total exports to September 2007), Hong Kong (A$509 million or 13.7 percent), Republic of Korea (A$390 million or 10.5 per cent), Taiwan (A$339 million or 9.1 per cent), China (A$325 million) and India (A$242 million).
