Executive Director's Review
Due to the world-wide potential of the e-learning sector, the continued investment of education providers and ICT enterprises building internationally recognised businesses based on e-Learning, the Intelligent Island Board has identified the sector as a target for investment attraction.
 
Tasmanian Representation at WEM 2002
At its April meeting the Intelligent Island Board approved the funds to support an industry delegation to the World Education Market (WEM) 2002.

With support from the Commonwealth Bank, e-magine, the Centre of Excellence in Online Learning was established by the Department of Education in 2000.

Established in 1999 by two University of Tasmania graduates, Damian Anderson and Danielle Stephens, Crank Media is a digital media firm based in Hobart.

REM is one component of the well-established documentary and multimedia production company Roar Film.

EduArt Multimedia Pty Ltd is a rapidly expanding educational technology development company, which has established a reputation for the production of high quality software, video and audio materials integrated into user friendly and interactive CD-ROMs and websites for educators and trainers.
