The Industry and Research Directory is a map of Tasmania's science and technology capabilities. It is an initiative of the Tasmanian Science and Technology Council in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.
This map is a detailed online map showing Tasmanian businesses and research organisations working in the science and technology industry. A summary is included on each business and research organisation including location, products developed, research services provided as well as providing links to each website.
This map aims to increase awareness of Tasmania’s science and technology capabilities to boost research collaboration and business partnering opportunities. It is also hoped the map will encourage local, national and international investment.

The IRIS maps are in SVG format (Scalable Vector Graphics) and for Internet Explorer, require an SVG Viewer which is available from the Adobe site. The maps work natively in Firefox 2.0 and Opera browsers.
