Tasmanian Innovations Advisory Board

The Tasmanian Innovations Advisory Board (TIAB) was established in May 1999 to create a culture of innovation by advising the State Government on innovation policy and its implementation and administering the Tasmanian Innovations Program.  The Hon. Michael Field AC is Chairman.  Click here to find out the membership of TIAB.

TIAB meet bimonthly to assess Tasmanian Innovations Program applications for grants between $20,001 and $150,000.  Dates by which Tasmanian Innovation Program applications must be received to be assessed at a scheduled board meeting are:

Grants of up to $20,000 can be assessed at any time by a subcommittee of TIAB.

Science and Technology Policy 2001

Tasmania's science and technology policy has been developed in consultation with Tasmania's science and technology sector, industry, community and State Government.

This policy presents a long-term framework for bringing together and expanding the State's activities.  

Support for Cooperative Research Centres (CRC), Centres of Excellence and other Research Collaborations in Tasmania 2005

This policy framework is applicable to those research centres that are eligible for new or supplementary funding through the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Centres of Excellence (CoE) Program, Department of Education Science and Training’s (DEST) Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Program and other research collaborations, and where the role of the Tasmanian Government is that of a contributing organisation.
