Conference Workshops

The pre-conference workshops provide an unparalleled opportunity for Tasmanian manufacturers to participate in two quality half-day training sessions focused on operational improvements that can reduce costs and increase capacity.  Workshop participants can chose from four half-day workshops; two available in the morning and two available in the afternoon of Thursday 1 October 2009 as follows:

8:00 am Thursday 1 October 2009

  • Richard Wilson - 5S and Workplace culture
  • Gary Kerr - Value stream mapping, identify the waste to provide a focus for improvement

1:00 pm Thursday 1 October 2009

  • Richard Wilson - Visual management of the manufacturing environment
  • Gary Kerr - Lean supply chain and Kanban 

     

    Conference Dinner 

    The conference dinner and a pre-dinner networking function will be held on Thursday 1 October 2009.  The pre-dinner networking function will commence at 6.15 pm prior to the conference dinner which commences at 7.00 pm.  An eminent after-dinner speaker will address the conference dinner attendees.

    The dinner provides an excellent opportunity for manufacturers to mix informally with keynote speakers, workshop facilitators, suppliers, trainers and fellow manufacturers to discuss mutual challenges and opportunities.
