colin zeitlynColin Zeitlyn

General Manager - Marketing and Sales, Cement Australia

Colin Zeitlyn is responsible for the national sales of Cement Australia's bulk cementitious products and packaged products.  Colin also oversees the lime business, as well as market and product development, research, branding and end use performance analysis of products.

Born and educated in the UK, Colin moved to Australia in 1982.  Colin has many years experience with the BOC Group and a strong industrial marketing background as well as strong general management experience gained in the Asia-Pacific region and in the UK as global Managing Director of BOC's medical gases business.

Colin will deliver a keynote address on the impact of climate change on manufacturing and heavy industry in particular.   Colin will also participate in the climate change  special interest session.

 

Peter CampbellPeter Campbell

Improvement Manager, Volgren Australia

Peter joined bus manufacturer and Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Inductee, Volgren Australia, in 2005.  As Volgren’s “Improvement Manager”, Peter manages improvements to all aspects of the business: production flow, cycle time, 5S, visual management, workforce education and training, safety, quality and environment.

Peter’s career in manufacturing began in 1999 with the STAMP (Stamping Technology for Automotive Manufacturing Processes) funded by Ford Motor Company, ANU and Deakin University, through which he completed his Engineering PhD in production line management and lean manufacturing. Peter then worked for Robert Bosch before joining Volgren Australia.  Currently, his major challenge is to lead the “20-Day Bus” project, which aims to slash the bus throughput time from the current time of 40-50 days to just 20 days.

Peter is National Vice President and Secretary of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and will also participate in the manufacturing excellence  and lean manufacturing special interest session.

Leveraged Lean

Gary Kerr has many years of real-world experience in manufacturing businesses.  As Operations Manager at ADI Munitions, Gary implemented lean thinking across the business leading to huge inventory reductions and throughput increases of over 200 per cent.

Gary is an engineer with a Master’s Degree majoring in Business and Technology.  He spends a great deal of his time sharing his knowledge and coaching organisations towards world-class performance.  Gary hosts visits to North America each year to benchmark best practice and share his knowledge with his hosts.

Gary is a past  President of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and is a regular speaker at business breakfasts, senior management summits and other functions.  Gary consults widely with national manufacturers and conducts public workshops on lean principles, tools and implementation.

Gary will participate in the manufacturing excellence – Lean manufacturing special interest session.

 

richard wilsonRichard Wilson

KM&T Pty Ltd

Richard is a lean coach with KM&T Pty Ltd, which is the Australasian part of the Global Knowledge Management & Transfer Group. The Australasian business was founded in October 2005 and can boast an impressive portfolio of clients and results including Qantas Airways Ltd and United Group Rail.

Prior to joining KM&T Richard has held a number of industry roles including group leader Toyota UK, Department Manager Bentley Motors Ltd and five years in the fast moving perishable food industry.  Richard has added working knowledge of many major industry sectors including aerospace in MRO (Maintenance and Repair Overhaul) and helicopter turbine engine overhaul, as well as retail, FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and the Australian health service.

Richard will participate in the manufacturing excellence – Lean manufacturing special interest session.
