Each year, just under 4,000 international students choose Tasmanian institutions for their educational requirements.
The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts plays an active role in promoting institutions to potential students throughout the world. Specifically, the department is the international marketer for Tasmanian Government Schools and Tasmanian Polytechnic, and has been instrumental in developing the Education Tasmania Alliance to foster cooperative opportunities for all institutions registered to accept overseas students.
